Meet Matt Day
Working Tennesseans in District 71 deserve a representative who understands everyday household budgets, values hard work, and will stand up for local families, public lands, and community resources.

Rooted in Tennessee and our community
Matt and his wife Sarahy share their home with two rescue dogs, Lacy and Torito. When he is not working or meeting neighbors across District 71, Matt spends his time outdoors: hunting turkey and deer on public lands across the Yanahli and Williamsport Wildlife Management Areas, fishing for bass and crappie on the Duck River, tending beehives, and working the fruit trees and garden on his property. Matt knows the value of preserving our natural heritage and protecting the land we call home.

A clear vision for working families
Matt's campaign, A New Day for Tennessee, is focused on practical priorities that directly benefit our neighbors. He is committed to protecting public schools by stopping voucher schemes that drain taxpayer dollars, raising the minimum wage so an honest day's work pays a living wage, expanding Medicaid and TennCare to bring critical health care dollars back home, and opposing predatory large-scale data centers that threaten our water, grid, and rural landscape.
